About ClearApply

We got tired of checking eleven portals too.

ClearApply started as a shared spreadsheet three friends used to track their own university applications. It's since become the place thousands of students go to see exactly where they stand — without the guesswork, or the group chat guessing along with them.

Why we exist

Every admissions cycle, millions of students apply to programs through portals that were never built to talk to each other — or to the applicant. A status update means opening a new tab, half the time to find nothing's changed.

We think the process of applying shouldn't be harder than the work that got you there. So we built the tracking layer that should have existed from the start — one place to see every application, exactly as it stands, the moment it changes.

"Clarity shouldn't be a premium feature."

What we hold to

A short list, on purpose.

Built for the applicant

Every decision starts from what a student needs to know next — not what's easiest for a university's back office.

Status over noise

We show what changed and what to do about it. Nothing gets buried in a digest email you'll open next week.

Checked twice, submitted once

A missing signature shouldn't cost you three weeks. We catch it before a university ever does.

How we got here

A short history, mostly in postmarks.

2023

A shared spreadsheet, three founders

Three friends were tracking their own postgraduate applications across a dozen portals — and built a tracker so they'd stop losing track.

2024

First 50 students, all by referral

ClearApply opened to a small cohort of applicants, mapping their profiles against real undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the first time.

2025

1,000+ applications tracked in one cycle

What started as a personal fix became a full admissions season used by students applying across engineering, design, management, and the sciences.

2026

Direct sync with partner universities

Status updates started coming straight from university registrars — no more relying on a forwarded email to know something changed.
